   Inaugural Island Formula Success


Ten young drivers have enjoyed the inaugural Spectrum Racing Cars - Island Formula two-day driver development program, held at Victoria’s Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.


Drivers assembled at Borland Racing Developments’ facility in Braeside, Victoria on the opening day of the program to attend a comprehensive workshop session run by industry specialist Chris Jewell which exposed participants to the finer points of the sport including a motorsport-specific psychometric assessment, while appearances from current Spectrum/ BRD Formula Ford driver Shae Davies and Ford Performance Racing’s Chaz Mostert added a driver’s insight to the program.



Spectrum and Sabre take Victorian titles

With the final Victorian race meeting for 2011 concluded at Phillip Island last weekend, the Spectrum Formula Ford and Sabre Formula Vee chassis have again proved to be the benchmark in their respective competitions. The meeting was the setting for the final rounds of the CAMS Victorian Formula Ford series, the Formula Vee Association of Victoria club championship, as well as the traditional Island Magic trophies for Formula Ford, Formula Ford 1600 and Formula Vee.




Spectrum announce drivers for inaugural Island Formula

Spectrum Racing Cars today announced the list of ten successful applicants who will participate in the inaugural Spectrum Racing Cars - Island Formula driver development program, to be held at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit from November 29-30.



Strong finish to 2011 for Spectrum


Spectrum Racing Cars ventured across Bass Strait to Tasmania’s Symmons Plains Raceway for the final round of the Australian Formula Ford Championship last weekend, with Spectrum representatives Borland Racing Developments and Synergy Motorsport looking to see the season out on a high after collecting race wins in the last two rounds at Phillip Island and Surfers Paradise.



Campfield wins Walter Hayes


Adrian Campfield has reunited with his 2008 UKFFC team, Kevin Mills Racing and the Australian built Spectrum chassis, to take out the Walter Hayes Trophy for FF1600 cars at Silverstone last weekend.
