2016 Borland Racing Developments Season Review

The Borland Racing Developments squad enjoyed a busy but successful year in 2016. Once again, we facilitated the circuit racing debuts of a number of young drivers, and achieved strong results in both state and national Formula Ford competition in Australia, while also showcasing our race cars on the international stage.

We were also involved in one of the most exciting projects in the local open-wheel scene, the development of the Formula Thunder 5000 race car. We hope you enjoy our 2016 season review!

Nicholas Carroll was a consistent performer in the

Victorian Formula Ford Championship, notching up a

number of top-three race results.

Brendan Jones scored six race wins in the

Victorian Formula Ford Kent Class en route to

winning the title in his Spectrum 011.

Spectrum Factory Team 2016 Drivers' Line-up

Now that we are two rounds into both the National and the State Series, we would like to recognise our factory team drivers’ line-up for the 2016 racing season.

Jayden Ojeda has moved a step forward towards a professional career in motor racing and is now competing at National level in the 2016 Australian Formula Ford Series.

Paul Zsidy keeps working with his Spectrum 014 with the goal of improving his PBs and consistency at every outing.

At  State level, Brendan Jones is once again leading the Victorian F1600 field with his Spectrum 014.

We also want to welcome our two Formula Ford rookies in the Victorian State Series, Aaron Cameron and Nicholas Carroll. They both come from excellent results in karting and are ready to work hard and show their talent in the highly competitive Victorian field.

We are looking forward to continuing our 30th Anniversary Spectrum Formula Ford season with such a competitive team of drivers.

Jayden Ojeda to contest 2016 Australian Formula Ford Series

Jayden Ojeda has been confirmed to lead the Spectrum works team assault on the 2016 AFFS.  The 16 year old from Claremont Meadows, NSW who was recently awarded the News Local Junior Sports Star trophy in Penrith for his Formula Ford efforts in 2015, will pilot a Spectrum 014 alongside FF stalwart Paul Zsidy.
