In a season that saw Spectrum chassis dominate the winner’s circle, claiming 14 wins in 24 championship races, the Bosch Batteries Caltex Havoline duo of Tim Macrow and Steve Owen has ended the year 2 ^nd and 3 ^rd respectively in the Ford Australian Formula Ford Championship.

The weather was always going to feature in last weekend’s final round at Sandown Raceway, with rain and hail forecast over the two days. This was no more evident than in a qualifying session interrupted by some four red flag periods, making a lottery of the starting positions based on whether or not you completed a fast lap prior to the end of the session. Macrow fared worst, recording only two hot laps and having to start from 9 ^th position. Owen had a better run, qualifying in 3 ^rd, whilst Shane Price and Jason Liefting continued recent good form, finishing the session in 5 ^th and 7 ^th respectively. Unfortunately ....
