PERFECT START FOR NORTON AT CASTLE COMBE
Ben Norton’s defence of his Castle Combe FF1600 title has gotten off to the perfect start. Ben qualified on pole and then set the fastest race lap as he romped to an 11.6 second victory in the 12 lap race.
In 2010, Ben is again driving the Wiltshire College Spectrum 011, aboard which he secured the 2009 Championship. He is joined in the College team by rookie Oliver White. A third Spectrum 011 joins the Combe FF1600 ranks this year, with Kevin Mills Racing fielding an entry for Steven Jensen. The Spectrum trio signalled themselves as pacesetters, with Ben and Oliver claiming the front row and Steven securing 5th in qualifying.
With Ben’s lights to flag win being the highlight, the opening race of the season saw Oliver unfortunately involved in an incident which resulted in a DNF, whilst Steven opened his season with a strong 5th place. Borland Racing Developments congratulates the three drivers and their respective teams on a strong start to what promises to be another successful season for the Spectrum chassis at Castle Combe. |
